Now That's Entertainment!
Starting next to the Houston Theater District and stretching west along Allen Parkway and the Buffalo Bayou, is the 124-acre Buffalo Bayou Park from which people can enjoy excellent views of downtown’s skyline. The premier greenbelt winds from Bagby Street on the east to Shepherd Drive on the west and encompasses Eleanor Tinsley Park, which is the site of major Houston festivals and events. Active Houstonians enjoy the park’s lengthy hike-and-bike trails, exercise stations and a Frisbee golf course. The park also has ample public artwork, a dog park, a boat launch onto the bayou, a children’s playground and a recreation center.

Discovery Green is a 12-acre public park located in Downtown Houston immediately across from the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Hilton Americas Hotel and just blocks away from the Toyota Center, Minute Maid Park and the Houston Pavilions shopping district. The small but active park offers interesting public art and gardens, a whimsical playground and interactive fountains, dog runs, a jogging trail, restaurants, two picnic lawns and a small lake. Moreover, visitors can stroll down beautiful tree-covered promenades, take in a concert or show at its two performance stages or enjoy a good book at HPL Express, an extension of the Houston Public Library, and several reading rooms.

Regardless of what you’re looking for in entertainment, you are certain to find it in one of Houston’s premier cultural districts or its many parks.
