What’s Texas without a little cowboy twist? Indeed, Houston is a major cosmopolitan city with a high level of sophistication, but it still is chock full of rustic charm and nods to the ranching lifestyle of its early days. You don’t have to go very far from downtown to find working ranches and real-live cowfolk that will welcome your group to enjoy your company picnics, corporate team-building events and even elegant weddings at their fabulous venues. Take a look at what Houston-area ranches can offer your next event.

George Ranch Historical Park
Located just 30 minutes southwest of Houston, George Ranch Historical Park in nearby Richmond, is a serene country setting for corporate gatherings, meetings or team-building events. The park boasts four historic venues celebrating Texas history in the 1830s, 1860s, 1890s and 1930s; an open-air picnic pavilion; a 63,000-square-foot arena for rodeos, dinners, dances or trade shows for up to 2,500 people; and virtually unlimited open outdoor space. While special accommodations can be made to host a gathering at one of the historic sites, most events are held at the versatile Guy Lodge Hall, which has a stage and seats approximately 175 people. For more intimate gatherings, the adjacent Beasley Post Office comfortably seats about 40. The park also has a beautiful south yard area featuring centuries-old oak trees, a historic chapel and an outdoor gazebo. Custom event packages ensure a unique and personalized experience for companies to combine traditional business-meeting elements with fun ranch-based team-building activities during the day or into the campfire-lit evening.
