A Guide to Houston's Nightlife
6. Belvedere
[Uptown]
Belvedere bills itself as a “microcosmic express of its environment.” When your environment is the elite and stylish Uptown Houston, you know you’re in for a night of world-class elegance and chic. Belvedere is a confluence of fashion and business, making it one of the go-to locations for professionals to make corporate transactions in a high-end setting. This exclusive nightclub is certainly a sight to behold; the stunning bar area fades into luxurious private seating, providing the perfect atmosphere for groups to lounge and enjoy edgy interior design and the flats screen televisions. Belvedere’s private room is one of the city’s marquee spaces for groups looking for the ultimate after hours experience. With elegant furnishings and an atmosphere reminiscent of the LA nightlife, Belvedere is an inspired venue that represents the best in VIP luxury.

7. ROCBAR
[Downtown]
ROCBAR is one the most notable attractions in Bayou Place and provides a nightclub experience that’s as original as it is wild. The $2.5 million project features a live music stage with a 20-foot video wall as a backdrop. The highlight of the venue is the 60-foot rock bar, which even acts as a makeshift stage of sorts for certain performers. Posh seating areas give patrons a panoramic view of this electrifying facility along with all of the fun happenings going on throughout the club. The dynamic atmosphere is unlike any other in Houston. “ROCBAR completely immerses in its decadence, sound, and palatable energy,” says designer Jae Lee. “You will lose yourself in ROCBAR and be quite glad you did.”

8. The Tasting Room
[Uptown]
The Tasting Room is the ideal venue for wine lovers of all varieties, from the expert wine taster to the novice that just loves to try new things. The Tasting Room is committed to delivering a wide range of wine experiences to its patrons, and thanks to a pricing model that’s based on each bottle’s retail value, guests on a budget can join in on the fun as well. Much of the extensive wine list is also available by the glass. The Tasting Room also features a sumptuous food menu to complement the many varieties of available wine. The Uptown location features a open air patio that overlooks the surrounding Uptown Park shopping center and the surrounding Galleria area.

9. Venue
[Downtown]
Venue’s subtitle, Living By Night, is aptly titled. It’s original goal was to provide an upscale establishment that also showcased a variety of original entertainment. The result is the perfect melding of music, dancers and media in Houston. Venue is the one holdover from the glory days of Main Street that’s still standing, and for good reason. The 11,000 square-foot facility features a stage for live entertainment, a departure from the usual DJ-infused soundtrack of most other nightclubs in the area. Venue’s upbeat mood is supported by a warm color palate, and elevated VIP sections give guests a view of all of the energy on the dance floor and in the bar area.
